Privacy Policy for Schools, Parents, and Guardians

Introduction
On The Vine Media, LLC ("ForOurSchool.org", "Company", "we", "us", or "our") provides this privacy policy which applies to information collected through the website located at the domain ForOurSchool.org (the "Site") accessed via computer, mobile device, or other technology (collectively, the "Service").
Summary
This section addresses the main concerns of most schools, parents, and guardians that use the Service.
How is collected data used?
ForOurSchool.org asks for the least amount of data possible from school administrators, parents and guardians to operate our Services. When school administrators want to start a fundraiser, we first ask for their name, email, and password to create administrative accounts ("Administrators").
We then ask Administrators for the school and address and the details of their fundraiser, including but not limited to the start and end dates, a description of the fundraiser, and the information that should be shown in student dashboards ("Fundraiser Data").
We then ask for information related to the classes that will be participating in the fundraiser, including but not limited to the teacher's name and grade ("Class"). Each Class will have a unique code associated with it ("Class Code") which may be disseminated from Administrators to parents or guardians of students in each Class.
For parents or guardians to register for accounts, we ask for their name, email, and password ("Parents"). Once logged in, Parents can create student profiles for their children by providing the first name and optionally the first letter of the last name of their child, a selection for their child's avatar, which is an illustrated image of an animal, and the Class Code ("Student"). If a Student is under 13 years of age, all interactions with the Service can and should be performed directly by the Parent.
While participating in a fundraiser, Students can uploading information relating to their activities associated with the fundraiser, including but not limited to the number of minutes read and notes related to a reading session ("Activity Log Notes").
Throughout the fundraiser, Students may solicit donations and messages of support through online donation pages provided by ForOurSchool.org ("Student Donation Page"). When donors submit information on the Student Donation Page, we ask for a name and email ("Sponsor"), and, optionally, an amount they would like to donate in support of Student as well as a personal message of encouragement ("Sponsor Message"). Sponsor Message is made available to Administrators and Parents who must approve them through the use of the ForOurSchool.org dashboard before they are shown publicly in a Student's dashboard or donation page. We never receive any financial information. Sponsors are directed to a school's PayPal account where they may choose to complete the transaction.
Is Student data deleted after the fundraiser?
Parent, Class, and Fundraiser Data are retained until the Administrator deletes them so that summaries of the fundraiser can be accessed by the Administrators as well as the parents and guardians in the future. This information can also be used by Administrators to create additional Fundraisers in the future. Administrators can request the deletion of this information by contacting us, see the "Contact" section below.
Within 3 months of the conclusion of a fundraiser, Students' names will be anonymized and Activity Log Notes and Sponsor Messages will be permanently deleted.
No personally identifiable information is ever shared or sold to any other entity.
Can Parents request deletion of Student data?
Yes, we will honor all verifiable requests to delete Student data. To ensure that we do not affect school data, Students' names will be anonymized and Activity Log Notes and Sponsor Messages will be permanently deleted. To request the deletion of this information, see the "Contact" section below.
What happens if there is a data breach?
If Company identifies or is notified of a breach, technical support will immediately act to identify the nature of the breach and perform corrective actions which include adding code to eliminate the possibility of future identical breaches, restoring data from one of multiple secure backup and notifying any individual or group that might have been compromised.
